Happy First Birthday, Emma!

One year old!




Emma had her first birthday on Wednesday, September 24th. It was so fun. She got to play in her brand new room and sleep in her brand new crib. She had a party the day after. She liked her cupcake much better than she liked her cake. Her favorite present was from great-grandma Doris. Emma's always wanted a baby all to herself. Now she can't go anywhere without it.

Now that Emma's turned one she thinks she's so big. She is learning lots of new things. She scoots around, pulling and pushing herself with her legs. It is so funny to watch her. She's pretty good at it, though, and she's very fast. The other night Chad and I were out at the desk in the mortuary doing a viewing. We leave the doors open so we can hear her. I was walking back towards the apartment and I almost tripped over her. She had crawled the whole way out to find us.



Here's a part of Emma's room. Can you see the dresser in the left corner? I must say that it is gorgeous. A true work of art. We love her crib. Of course there's always more to do. We still need to hang the curtains. But, she doesn't know the difference. It looks great. It was a lot of hard work on all of our parts. Emma was very patient while we worked on it.




















Emma is getting a magnetic chalkboard for her room. We're still working on it, but it should be done soon. In the meantime she plays with her magnets on the fridge.












Emma wanted to feed Mommy some cake. So, I let her. Then, since I was already a mess we went all out and it was so much fun!

Emma is the most beautiful girl in the world and we are so blessed to have her. We truly don't know what we would do without her. She's the joy of our life and we are so happy that she is doing so well and is so happy. She really is such a perfect baby and child. Keep it up Emma!!
